At Optima, we believe that interior spaces should do more than look good – they should actively support the health, wellbeing, and everyday experiences of the people who use them. That belief came to life in our recent collaboration on the MS Plus Wellbeing Centre in Sydney, where our glazing systems played a central role in delivering a space defined by comfort, connection, and care.

Developed by Multiple Sclerosis Limited (MS Plus), the centre was created to support individuals living with neurological conditions – offering programmes, support, and services in an environment purpose-built to enhance emotional, physical, and social wellbeing.
Working with DEM Architects and Grindley Construction, the project was driven by a clear goal: design a space that feels as good as it looks. Drawing on biophilic principles and universal design standards, the team focused on natural light, acoustic privacy, and universal accessibility – without compromising aesthetic appeal.
Our high-performance glass partitioning and door systems were selected to deliver three core outcomes:
1. Light & Transparency The use of natural light was critical in promoting a calming and uplifting atmosphere. We installed our Revolution 100 single glazed partition system throughout the centre. Its mullion-free design ensures maximum daylight penetration while providing a sleek, modern aesthetic. The 50mm x 100mm profile strikes a balance between durability and clean lines, fitting seamlessly within the wider architectural language.
2. Privacy & Acoustics Wellbeing spaces need to offer quiet moments and confidentiality, especially during one-on-one consultations or therapeutic activities. Our D670 frames with solid core timber doors provide acoustic control and privacy while introducing natural textures and warmth into the space. These were paired with Microflush door frames, which maintain a seamless transition between spaces and reinforce the clean, minimalist design.
3. Accessibility & Ease of Movement For a centre catering to individuals with varied mobility, accessibility wasn’t a feature – it was essential. Our 117 Plus single glazing system, paired with Kinetic Align automatic sliding doors, allowed for hands-free, effortless access between rooms. The slim 50mm x 25mm framing supports a lightweight, modern aesthetic while ensuring durability and ease of use for all visitors.
In line with MS Plus’s sustainability goals, the project prioritised energy efficiency and material performance. Our glass systems contribute by reducing reliance on artificial lighting and delivering long-term durability. By enhancing daylighting and visibility, we also support the biophilic objectives that underpin the centre’s design ethos.
The MS Plus Wellbeing Centre is more than a healthcare space – it’s a model for how architecture and interior design can actively contribute to wellness. Through thoughtful material selection, natural integration, and accessible design, the project creates a space that uplifts, supports, and heals.
Optima is proud to have been part of this initiative. Our systems helped realise a vision where design and wellbeing coexist – where every partition, frame, and door contributes to a greater sense of comfort and connection.
