Glass partitions enhance employee well-being at Minter Ellison

Minter Ellison recently completed the fit-out of their new Melbourne headquarters. Located in the brand-new Collins Arch tower in the heart of the city, this premier law firm’s new workplace spans across five and a half floors and boasts a refined and modern aesthetic. Working alongside designer Carr Design and builder Build Corp we created a sophisticated, bright, and welcoming office space that captures the essence of this law practice perfectly. Our glass partitions and doors offer an elegant high-performance addition for Minter Ellison, creating a comfortable and productive working environment. Installed extensively across each of the contemporary floors of this design, our glass partitioning systems promote a variety of working styles.

Natural light enhances well-being in the workplace

Natural light helps create happier, healthier and more productive work environments. With this in mind, we installed a selection of our award-winning glass partitioning systems throughout Minter Ellison’s new office design. Optima 117 Plus single glazed partitions create a variety of private meeting rooms and offices. This timelessly elegant system seamlessly breaks up the open areas within the office whilst allowing light to flood the space. Working with acoustician Norman Disney & Young, we analysed Minter Ellison’s acoustic needs throughout the project and specified the best suited solutions. Achieving up to Rw38dB, this sophisticated glass partition builds a collection of stylish private and collaborative areas. Furthermore, the level of natural light is amplified by Optima 36 single glazed door system. This dynamic glass door offers the ideal solution that effortlessly separates the central communal spaces from the various private areas within the office. As a result, our glass partitions deliver acoustic privacy whilst maintaining an open, bright and airy feel throughout.

Timber doors and visual privacy

Privacy was a key design requirement for this top law firm’s new Melbourne office. With this in mind, we installed Timber doors and applied reeded manifestation to our glass partitions to enhance both the sound and visual privacy throughout this contemporary design. 54mm single leaf solid core Timber doors were installed extensively across Minter Ellison’s office, creating a collection of private spaces that surround the communal working areas. Integrated alongside our glass partitions these acoustic doors also offer employees and clients the ideal sound privacy to hold confidential meetings or complete some solo work. Achieving up to Rw33dB, these solid door systems further enhance the overall acoustic performance of the design and bring an elegant aesthetic to the office whilst offering impressive acoustic performance.

Privacy throughout these confidential spaces was further improved through the application of reeded manifestation to the glass. The manifestation not only adds a unique design effect but also provides visual privacy to these areas. As a result, our glass partitions offer a sophisticated and sleek visual as well as delivering a distinctive and practical design feature for Minter Ellison.

What a project to have been a part of

Looking back over this impressive project, Sales Director Glyn Owen commented:

“Me and all of the team had a great time working on this beautiful, contemporary project for Minter Ellison. It was a pleasure to work in collaboration with both Carr Design and Build Corp on this extensive project, and the finished product is something I think we can all be really proud of, I know me, and the Optima team are. This fit-out presented several design challenges which we overcame and also highlighted how our glass partitions and doors offer the perfect solutions to meet the bespoke design requirements of our clients.”
