Pre-Covid, the Sirius Building (now known as the Yaradhang building) housed hundreds of healthcare staff in Woden (ACT). After the lockdown, occupancy never rose above 60%, which became a catalyst to rethink the interior aligned with ABW thinking.

Floors 1, 2, and 4 were to be re-fit to better service the occupants’ workspace needs. As part of this redesign, Optima partitions and doors were specified throughout the office areas on level 1. The large open-plan floorplate was organised into specific zones with a focus on collaboration. The design included coworking spaces, open-plan hot desks, private meeting rooms, and informal breakout areas.
The overall intent was to create “…a modern, flexible and healthy working environment that empowers individuals and teams to do their best work…”
