Acoustic Performance Creating a comfortable acoustic environment is an important consideration in leisure and recreational environments, particularly in libraries. Our acoustic expertise was called upon for the Library of Birmingham, where we were required to create bespoke acoustic screens for the music rooms.
At Optima we invest a lot of time and resource in acoustic research and development and all of our products are tested for acoustic performance in a UKAS accredited laboratory. We also have our own acoustically qualified Technical Manager who is on hand to offer professional advice to help you select the right products to suit your specific acoustic requirements.
Additionally, our expert team of Project Managers and installers, equipped with years’ of experience and knowledge, are trained to look out for the potential pitfalls on site to ensure that there are no acoustic weaknesses that might compromise the acoustic performance of our glass partitions.
Fire Performance All partitions enclosing fire escape stairs and fire escape routes require appropriate degrees of fire protection as agreed with Building Control. We offer a range of Fire Rated Partitions that can achieve either 30 or 60-minute fire ratings as standard. Higher ratings can be achieved if necessary.
On the Library of Birmingham project, Optima’s extensive package of works included independently supported internal fire screens, fire rated glass screens and doors, stair cores, automatic double fire doors and bespoke curved fire screens to form the atria.
Optima’s extensive expertise in leisure, sports and recreation projects means that we are well adept in handling this sector’s most challenging designs.
Glass partitioning can transform an office space, creating a sense of openness and transparency whilst maintaining acoustic privacy between activities.
